The Study of Exodus: Chapters 21-25
Exodus: Chapter 21
1.) What was the ultimate purpose of the law? How does the law point forward to Jesus?
2.) The first thing that the Lord addresses after the Ten Commandments is how to deal with servants and violence. Why would those be the first things discussed?
3.) We see that God gives a law and then a consequence if that law was not obeyed. What is the main point of that for us when we sin?
Exodus: Chapter 22
4.) What are sorcerers and why would God order the death of a sorceress?
5.) Why would it be good to follow these moral principles that are listed in the last half of this chapter today?
Exodus: Chapter 23
6.) What were some reasons for keeping the feasts? What ultimately were they doing by offering sacrifices to the Lord?
7.) Why did the Lord send His angel to “keep them in the way” and how does this relate to Christ?
8.) We see all these blessings and promises by God to the Israelites for obedience. Why is it hard for us to keep our mind and our spiritual eyes focused on the promises and rewards of God by obeying Him with the help of the Holy Spirit that Christ gave us?
Exodus: Chapter 24
9.) What were the Israelites saying when they declared, “All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”? What was the significance of the blood being sprinkled on the people?
10.) Why was Moses allowed to take Joshua up with him on the mountain with God?

11.) Why were offerings required by God?
12.) Why was the Ark of the Testimony to be made? What is the reason for covering it with pure gold?
13.) What was the symbol of the lampstand for the Israelites and what is the spiritual meaning of the lampstand for us?
